Hostile Skies Currency and Economy
Credits, XP, and the best ways to earn them.
Hostile Skies runs on three currencies: credits, XP, and Robux. Credits and XP are earned in-game; Robux is the Roblox premium currency. This pages explains how each currency works, what to spend it on, and the fastest ways to earn it.
The three currencies
- Credits — earned by playing. Used to unlock planes, buy cosmetics, and purchase some game-pass upgrades.
- XP — earned by playing. Used to level your pilot and unlock planes via the level track.
- Robux — premium Roblox currency. Used for game passes, certain cosmetics, and the Robux-tier cosmetic packs.
How credits work
Every match gives credits. Credits scale with:
- Match length (longer matches give more)
- Kill / assist count
- Bomb damage against ground targets
- Event rotation bonuses
A typical 12-minute public match gives 2,500 to 4,000 credits for an average pilot. Top pilots in event lobbies push 7,000+ per match.
How XP works
XP drives pilot level. Each level unlocks new planes on the level track. XP is earned the same way as credits: by playing matches, scoring kills, hitting ground targets, and completing event objectives.
The level curve ramps up sharply at level 30. Expect to hit level 25 in a normal play week and level 35 after another 10 to 15 hours. The v3.5.1 patch added a 1.25x XP bonus for the first match of every session to soften the late curve.
What to spend credits on
Spend credits in this priority order:
- Tier-A planes you do not have unlocked yet. A-tier planes (Spitfire, Bf 109, P-47, FW 190 A-8) are 90% as good as S-tier and unlock at lower credit cost. Buy them first if you main that faction.
- Engine and ammo upgrades for your main plane. Upgrades apply across all matches, not just the one you earned them in.
- Skins you actually like. Skins do not affect gameplay; they are pure cosmetics.
- Cosmetic XP boosters only. Skip them if you have spare codes.
What to spend XP on
XP unlocks planes through the level track. You cannot redirect XP. The level cap is 70 in v3.7; the v3.8 anniversary update is expected to raise it to 75.
What to spend Robux on
Skip the credit multiplier Robux packs — they are usually not worth it. The the best Robux purchases are:
- The double-credit weekend pass if you main events.
- Permanent XP boost for a competitive edge.
- Founders skins for collectors.
Best grinding routes
If you want credits fast, the most efficient routes are:
- Event rotation grinding — events pay 2x to 4x more than public matches. Stack with a 2x credit code for an 8x effective burst.
- Carrier map rework farming — the v3.7 carrier rework added high-traffic airspace that yields 25% more credits per match than standard maps.
- Bomber role queueing — bombers earn 1,500 credits per match from ground-target damage alone.
- Phantom mode win bonus — Phantom mode rewards 7,500 credits per match win, which is the highest credit-per-hour option in the game for skilled pilots.

Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What is the highest credit-per-hour method?
Phantom mode match wins. A skilled pilot can pull 50,000 credits per hour during the Phantom mode bonus window.
Are the Robux packs worth it?
Most are not. The double-credit weekend pass and the permanent XP boost are the only two that pay for themselves in a normal play session.
Can I trade credits with other pilots?
No. Credits are account-bound. Roblox trading is not supported inside Hostile Skies.
