Hostile Skies Tier Lists
Ranked by role, with rationale for every placement.
The Hostile Skies tier list hub ranks every flyable plane, weapon set, companion, and full loadout by role. Tiers are recalculated after every major patch and the rationale for each placement is documented inline.
Why we publish tier lists
Players search for tier lists more than any other keyword. The aim here is to give a fast answer and the reasoning behind it, so you can disagree (and tell us why) instead of just trusting a coloured grid.
How tiers work
- S tier: best in role, dominates the meta.
- A tier: strong picks, defines competitive play.
- B tier: solid, niche picks that shine with skill.
- C tier: underwhelming but still flyable.
Tiers assume equal pilot skill; the Loadout tier list shows what changes when you stack two specific roles together.
The full list
- Plane tier list — every flyable plane ranked.
- Weapon tier list — guns, cannons, rockets, bombs.
- Companion tier list — best copilots.
- Loadout tier list — full builds by role.
Tiers are a starting point. Read the rationale and pair the picks with the How to fly guide to squeeze more performance out of any aircraft.

How we rank the tiers
Tiers are computed from win rate, pick rate, and a panel of community experts. The wiki re-ranks within 48 hours of any balance patch. S-tier defines the meta; A-tier is competitive; B-tier is niche; C-tier is situational.
How to read each tier list
Every tier list opens with a one-line description of the ranking criteria, then a table with role tags and unlock notes. The rationale section explains why a plane sits in its tier. Pair the tier list with the Plane stat database for full context.

Wiki methodology note
Tier rankings blend three data sources: aggregate win rate across the last 500 server-side matches, pick rate from the leaderboard snapshot, and a panel of community experts who main the role they are ranking. Every tier-list page is re-ranked within 48 hours of any balance patch, so the wiki stays current even when the developer ships hotfixes without patch notes. The rationale section under each tier list explains why a plane sits in its tier, so readers can disagree (and tell us why) instead of treating a coloured grid as gospel. New pilots should pair each list with the Plane stat database for the raw numbers behind the ranking.
